You will notice many similar design elements--although slightly less intricate--in our 80
knot, intermediate quality carpets as those found in our highest quality, 100 knot carpets.
Our 80 knot carpets are a smart choice for those who want beautiful designs and
wide-ranging colors at a lower price. We present a wholly
different palette of brighter, more contemporary colors in this range, although
many of our 80 knot carpets are presented in muted, earthier tones in order to appeal to a
variety of tastes.
These rugs are woven with a blend (approximately 50-50) of Tibetan
highland sheep wool and imported New Zealand sheep wool.
This wool blend is lighter in color yet not as dense in texture as pure Tibetan
wool. It will hold dyes differently than yarns made from pure Tibetan or New Zealand
wool. In short, the blend is more durable and richer in color than New Zealand wool,
thicker and brighter than pure Tibetan wool. A truly harmonious combination.
Because the gauge of the 80 knot yarn is larger, the thick,
bold texture lends them a robust charm. The color combinations we offer use
our unique 80 knot color palette, so color from other knot showrooms cannot be
substituted. Visit Our
Workshop page to find out how your carpets is made.
