Texture designs are the basis of Karma Carpets'  Sunday Brunch collection of modern Tibetan rugs.
Founded in 2004, Texture is dedicated to showcasing the ornamental and surface designs of Noam Mechaly. Original, playful and contemporary, with a nod to the traditional, the studio is known for its dynamic geometrics. There is also a focus on bold, graphic florals and lush, free-flowing organics, as well as figurative, cartoon-like silhouettes of animals and found objects.

Michael has developed many diverse styles of abstract paintings in all mediums -- oil, watercolor, pastels, acrylic or photo transfers. Michael has lived and painted in several cities throughout the United States including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Sacramento. During these years, he has created numerous works of art and has established an extensive clientele.

A comprehensive website. The official website of the Government of Tibet of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama provides a wide range of resources and information, both political and cultural.  There is extensive coverage of the latest news from Tibet along with information about the nature of the Government of Tibet in Exile and other aspects of Tibetan culture and life.

The Tibet Fund - (www.tibetfund.org)
Tibet Fund's mission is the preservation of the distinct cultural, religious, and national identity of the Tibetan people.  Tibet Fund is based in New York City.  It is a non-profit organization which assists the educational, social, and economic advancement of the Tibetans, both inside and outside Tibet, by:

  • Supporting economic and community development projects in the refugee communities in India and Nepal
  • Providing support to monasteries and nunneries outside of Tibet
  • Supporting projects to preserve Tibet's unique culture and arts
  • Improving health conditions in the refugee community
  • Extending assistance for health, education and small economic development projects inside Tibet
  • Offering scholarships and cultural exchange programs

An excellent online resource. Many links to other Tibet-related sites including global support groups, campaigns and urgent actions, photo galleries, media, travel and news. Tibet Online is operated by the International Tibet Support Group Community, providing information on the plight of Tibet and serving as a virtual community space for the movement.

International Campaign for Tibet - (www.savetibet.org)
An organization dedicated to world awareness of the current situation in Tibet, based in Washington, DC.   Contains an excellent overview of the Tibetan movement.  This site is oriented toward political action and is a recommended visit for those who wish to do their part to help the Tibetan people.
